After the fast passage of an Atlantic low-pressure system, we will get at the front side of a prevailing central low-pressure area over the Atlantic. This low-pressure area will head towards the British Isles during the second half of the week, consequently the south foehn current will strengthen and increasingly get under low-pressure influence. Therefore, rather sunny and friendly weather is expected on Thursday and on Friday. Only minor cloud banks will occasionally interfere with the weather. At the weekend and at the beginning of next week, the south foehn will strengthen significantly. Subsequently, barrier effects around the Alpine divide will result in temporary precipitation, while the conditions will remain friendly-foehny towards the northern edge of the Alps and at most minor showers may temporarily pass through.
