The best time for hiking is generally from late June to late September. During this period, many mountain huts are open, most trails are free of snow and the days are pleasantly long. Thanks to the high altitude, temperatures often remain comfortable even in the height of summer, while September stands out for its clear air, quieter atmosphere and especially far-reaching views.
