New: Kopsseebahn in Galtür

Silvretta Galtür Mountain Railways are planning to build a new detachable 6-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods in the Kopssee area in 2026. The lift will replace the existing Kopssee Lifts I and II and will have a capacity of around 2,400 passengers per hour. A total of 56 chairs will be used. The lift will run over a horizontal distance of 1,125 metres from the valley station at 1,827 metres above sea level to the mountain station at 2,144 metres. The lift will utilise the former Höllkarbahn from Ischgl, which will undergo a comprehensive overhaul before being put into service.

In the valley, the first walls of the service rooms are already taking shape. Progress is also being made on the columns: columns 12 and 13 have been fully concreted, column 11 is currently being concreted, and column 10 is being prepared for the next phase of concreting work.
